To become a member you must fill out an application (make this a hyperlink to application page) and complete a Basic First Aid and either Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with AED or American Heart Association BLS Provider CPR Class (make the classes hyperlinks to up coming training page). Once your application is received you will be called by a member of the Membership Examination Committee to arrange an interview.

CADET:

 

Applicants must be between the ages of 16 and 18 and must submit a parental release form, which is provided during the membership interview. Cadets are under constant supervision and may organize their own Cadet Corps with their own officers (ex. President, Vice President, Secretary, etc...) under the supervision of the Corps Cadet Advisory Committee. Cadet members are eligible to move up to Probationary status on their 18th birthday. Cadet members are entitled to all training offered by the ambulance corps and are encouraged to participate in all ambulance corps functions.

 

 

 

PROBATIONARY/ACTIVE:

 

Applicants must be 18 years of age or older. All members must complete the probationary period and obtain an EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) certification before becoming an Active member. The probationary period for a member that joins without an EMT certification is a minimum of nine (9) months.  If you are joining with a current EMT certification the minimum probationary period is three (3) months. The probationary period is designed to teach new members the ins and outs of the organization such as the paperwork, equipment on the ambulances and rescue truck, as well as the policies and procedures of our organization.

 

 

 

DRIVER ONLY:

 

Applicants for the Driver Only category must complete the ambulance corps driver training program as outline in our current Standard Operating Procedures, and complete an emergency vehicle driving course.

 

 

 

AUXILIARY:

 

Applicants for this position operate as an organization under the ambulance corps. They do not have to have CPR or First Aid training. They would assist the ambulance corps in fundraising events, maintenance of the building and possible to assist at the building during any major emergency.
